3 Things You Should Still Do During The Pandemic

We’re still in the middle of a global pandemic and life has changed for all of us. Although routines may not be the same as they were before the COVID-19 outbreak, it’s important to try and do some of the things you normally would, such as keep in touch with family and friends, get regular exercise, and maintain a healthy diet. 

These times are very uncertain currently, and you may be unsure if booking any type of health appointment is the right thing to do but it’s important to look after your health during this time too. Many of us are focused on coronavirus and rightly so, but we need to ensure all aspects of our health are well maintained. Here are three things you should still be doing during the pandemic. 

Go for your dental routine checkup

Dental hygiene is important and you should still be going to your routine checkup. You should see a dentist every six months to make sure your oral health is in good condition. Even if you take good care of your teeth and gums at home, a world-class dentist will be able to check for potential problems that you may not see or feel. There are some conditions like early stages of gum disease or cavities that aren’t visible, which is why it’s important to go to your checkup so your dentist can spot the signs early and treat it accordingly. 

Get your eyes tested

Eyes tests are recommended every two years for most people unless you have a health condition that requires you to go more often. So if it’s been two years or longer since your last eye test, you may need to book one in. Eye tests are vital as they help recognize abnormalities and eye conditions like glaucoma and cataracts. If you struggle with your eyesight, you may need glasses or contact lenses. If you are experiencing difficulties with vision, speak to an eye doctor who will be able to examine your eyes and check what may be causing the issue. 

Speak to your doctor if you have a health concern

Although we are focused on COVID-19 currently, other health issues don’t go away. If you have any concerns about your health or you are feeling unwell, speak to your doctor. Don’t put off getting medical help if you think you need it. If you have any appointments or medical procedures booked during this time, check beforehand if they are still going ahead and do attend them if you can. Call the clinic or check their website to see what steps they have in place. Remember extra measures will be in place; like wearing a mask, using sanitizer, social distancing, etc. 

If you are unsure about booking dental, eye, or doctor appointments, you can always call and check that it’s okay to do so. While it is important that you do all you can to limit your time spent outside if you have any health concerns you should always get them checked out.
