All over the world men want to grow a magnificent beard and top it off with a cool moustache. Facial hair is hugely popular these days but not everyone finds is particularly easy to get this right.
With the help of the following tips, it is possible to get a beard and mustache combo to be proud of.
Resist the Temptation to Shave or Trim It Too Early
The first week of beard growth can be a real challenge for your willpower. If this is the first time that you’ve decided to cultivate facial foliage then you will probably be tempted to shave or trim it too early. You should let it grow naturally for a couple of weeks; which are probably going to be the toughest days of the whole process. It might look weird and patchy during this initial period but you need to stay strong a bit longer. Interestingly, it is suggested by some experts that too much stress can limit a man’s beard growth. Therefore, if you have your heart set on more than just some stubble you will want to avoid feeling too much stress.
Wash Your Beard Regularly
By the third week you should be able to see the beard taking shape. The beauty of this is that everyone’s beard forms differently, so you won’t know what unique form and level of business you are going to get until it grows. At this point you can look for a special beard wash to keep it clean. This is something that you can use a few times a week to keep it looking great as it grows. Other guys just stick to soap and water or else use normal shampoo on their beards. Either way, it might feel a bit strange to wash your beard at first but you will soon get used to it and may even end up enjoying the sensation.
Maintain Your Skin in Good Condition
It is important to keep your skin in great condition as your beard becomes a big part of your life. You can start by exfoliating the skin once a week or so, to keep it clean.
You should also start to use a cream or moisturizer on your face. There are some great men’s gift ideas like this specifically for bearded gentlemen, so it will help your skin and your beard in tip-top condition at the same time. Don’t forget that you might shave off your facial hedge at some point, so you will want the skin below it to be looking as good as possible.
Keep It Well Groomed
By the third week or so you should be ready to start using the best beard grooming kit that you can find. You don’t want to just dive in and start trimming it without any forward planning, though. Instead, you can start by concentrating on any patchy parts around the edge of the beard that need tidying up. Once it has progressed a month or so you should be able to get a good feel for what style of beard best suits you. By this stage, you can look to trim it in the way that will give you; the finished look that you most enjoy wearing.
