ColourPop Lip Kit and Eyeshadow

So I have been following the ColourPop trend for a while but only now I have decided to make my first official purchase. First off I must say, when you are addicted to makeup, you become a product junkie, so in return, you will want to collect a bunch of beauty products and you might want to buy every new collection on the market, some you might not even finish to the bottom before the expiration date.

Anyhow, I decided to start with the mini kit since I have so many lipsticks in my collection that are not even half used. By doing this I still get to try the product and I end up spending less for minis than paying for the full sized product. My first ColourPop product actually came in my ipsy glam bag.

ColourPop Its Vintage Lip Kit and ColourPop Eyeshadow Paradox

On my first purchase, I bought the ColourPop It’s Vintage Mini Ultra Matte Lip Collection and an eyeshadow in the shade Paradox. Upon arrival I opened the box that the products were shipped in to be greeted with a sweet welcome card complimenting my taste on my choice of products and a booklet filled with details of ColourPop products (lippie stix, lippie pencil, brow pencil, etc.) and types (sheer, matte, metallic, glossy, créme etc.) how to use them, tips and tricks which can be useful for makeup newbies.

The ColourPop It’s Vintage Mini Ultra Matte Lip Collection: Price $18

The mini set has five different shades that have a vibrant intense color with a bold, ultra-matte finish. The names of the colors are:
  • Bianca – a true nude shade that appears as a nude pink when swatched.
  • Tulle – dusty burgundy shade
  • Notion – deepened raspberry shade
  • Love Bug – rich mahogany shade
  • LAX – vampy brown-red shade

These deep dark shades are fit for the fall season. They apply wet but dries to a very matte finish. For the best application, apply over moisten lips. Do not use these if your lips are dry and chapped.

ColourPop Eye Shadow Paradox Super Slock Shadow (satin): Price $5

This is a deep (burgundy) red shadow that feels super soft to the touch and glides on to skin easily. It comes in a white pot that has a clear lid covering and ColourPop labeled on top. The container pot contains 2.1 gr / 0.07 oz of the product; the pan is actually shallow than what it looks like from seeing the packaging. The shadow is easy to blend. The texture is cream to powder which can be dried out easily; making the product get hard and not so nice and creamy if the lid is not sealed on properly.

The packaging is bulky and the product is not good to do a depot. I gravitated towards the shade Paradox after seeing a picture of it on Instagram.

A single pot of ColourPop eyeshadow retails for $5; the quads cost $18 and the special sets with 6 shadows cost $25.

I am happy with my purchase. ColourPop cosmetics are inexpensive and the quality of the product is long lasting.
