Goodskin Ultra-light Daily Moisturizer: An Honest Review

With skincare products, trial and error seem to be the name of the game.

Guinea-pigging skincare products is an ongoing nightmare. It’s always a hit and miss experiment, which often favors a “miss”.

And this isn’t just because most products are full of nasty chemicals that do who knows what to our bodies and the environment…

It’s because even most “natural” products suck.

But… every now and then I’ll stumble upon a hidden gem that’s natural and… it works.

In this article, I’ll review Goodskin Ultra-light Daily Moisturizer so you don’t have to.

First Thing’s First… What’s Actually In It?

Before I get into the nitty-gritty details about the Goodskin Moisturizer, let’s go over the ingredients.

The first thing you’ll notice about this moisturizer is that it’s made from real products. It’s natural. It’s organic. It’s paraben-free. It’s preservative-free.

All in all, it’s real. And that’s important when it comes to putting anything in your body or on your skin. Your skin is the largest organ in your body, and it will absorb what you put on it.

Thankfully, you don’t have to worry about any nasty ingredients with this moisturizer.

While I won’t get into all the ingredients, it’s a good sign when you can actually pronounce all the ingredients (and there aren’t confusing 3-4 syllable words that usually come along with harmful chemicals).

It’s quite the powerful line-up since we’ve used almost all of these ingredients on our skin before (with the exception being avocado as the new kid on the block).

Goodskin quickly lays out exactly what this moisturizer is supposed to do. According to their website, it “Layers the skin with a quick absorbing dose of organic hydration, anti-aging peptides, and fortifying antioxidants to give you a matte all-day glow.”

They continue, “Under makeup or au natural, you’ll hardly notice as your skin reaches the perfect level of soft, rejuvenating moisture. Gently blankets the skin with a non-greasy, silky smooth layer of hydration that lasts all day.”

In other words, by using this moisturizer, your skin will stay hydrated all day. It will flood your skin with anti-aging properties, and ensure your skin glows throughout the day.

The best part is, this moisturizer isn’t cakey. And it isn’t greasy. It’s just right.

Goodskin recommends using it once or twice a day by applying a small amount to your face and neck, followed by sunscreen if using during the day.

How Does It Feel?

Before we get into how the moisturizer looks, we have to touch on how it feels, since you’ll be spending more time wearing it than looking at it.

Every moisturizer has a feeling. Some are greasy. Some are oily. Some are cakey.

Thankfully, the Goodskin Ultra-light Daily Moisturizer is none of those things. In fact, applying it is very smooth, easy, and light. It absorbs very fast and you only need a little to go a long way.

The best part is… it doesn’t leave that nasty greasy feeling like a lot of moisturizers do, which makes it incredibly challenging to put on make-up after.

Instead, this moisturizer dries matte. This makes it way easier to apply make-up.

How Does It Smell?

Simple answer: it doesn’t.

This is both positive and negative. It’s nice when a moisturizer has a nice aroma to it since you’ll be smelling it all day. However, the Goodskin moisturizer is aroma-free.

There isn’t much of a fragrance. It only smells slightly like raw essential oils. It definitely doesn’t have a wonderful scent. But, oftentimes, heavenly scents come at a devilish price, often as the result of a number of harsh, non-eco-friendly additives.

So, overall, even though it would have been a nice addition to have a good smelling aroma, it feels better knowing the moisturizer is natural.

How Does It Look?

The final question is how does this moisturizer look? After all, it’s going to be in a pretty noticeable place, namely, your face. How it looks matters.

Unlike other moisturizers, it isn’t greasy. It isn’t oily. And it doesn’t cake on. It’s a natural, matte moisturizer that isn’t noticeable.

Even more important than the temporary look of the moisturizer is the long term effects.

After a few days of continual use, the moisturizer makes your face smoother and firmer. Plus, the anti-aging properties begin reversing imperfections. The impact of the natural oils, vitamins and minerals of the aloe, shea butter, avocado, and coconut oil begin taking effect, creating a synergy that heals the skin, creating a long-lasting natural glow.

So, when you have a product that’s natural and actually works, it’s a rare treasure.

The only downside is that it doesn’t have much of a fragrance, which some people may not like.

Overall, the moisturizer has a super-light feel. And most importantly, it reverses natural aging effects, firms and smooths the skin… all with natural, simple ingredients.
