Blush
Choosing the right color is important, if it’s too light or dark it will look unnatural. When trying to find the best color blush always chose one that is close to your skin tone. A known trick used by many is to use the color on your cheeks after a workout or after pinching your cheeks for a few seconds. Darker skin tones perfect match would be wine or burgundy colors, while lighter skin tones would look best with pink hues.
How to apply the different types of Blush
Make a big smile to find the apples of your cheeks, then gently apply the brush with blush onto the cheek apples, start from the middle of the apple and tap lightly upwards to the temple and hairline. Check for harsh lines on your cheek and blend it out with a sponge or a clean brush to buff or soften the color. Always start with a small amount of blush then build up till desire, if the color is not intense enough, repeat the steps till satisfied.
Use the same technique as applying powder brush, but use a stippling brush or your fingers to lightly tap the color onto the apples of the cheek and blend in a small circular motion outward. By using the finger for cream and gel blush it heats up the product for an easier application. Apply a translucent setting powder to set the blush or to get a long-lasting wear.
How to apply blush according to your Face Shape
Apply blush on the apples of cheeks and blend out towards the ear temples.
*Tip: Apply a cream blush with a fluffy blush, then apply foundation and finish off with a powder blush to get a natural lit from within flush for any face shape.
*Tip: To get a dramatic look, after applying foundation and powder blush, reapply the powder brush by using an angled brush. Dusting loose powder on the cheekbones can tone down the blush.
*Tip: If you have problems with dry skin or fine lines and wrinkles, consider using a cream blush. If your skin is oily, then use a powder blush. Powder blush works better in warm temperature while cream blush is better for cold weather.
Square faces with a stronger jawline should apply blush in a linear motion and a few inches from the sides of the nose.
