My Favorite Natural & Organic Face Washes for a Fresh Face

I’m a woman with a career and I love traveling – two of the biggest activities that can really steal the glow away from your face. Given my hectic schedule and the amount of pollution and dust out there, I need to keep myself looking fresh.  I’ve recently moved away from generic drugstore face washes to organic products custom-built for my skin type, and discovered that they work magic on my complexion. Top of my head, I’ll list out my top 8 favourites, that I’m sure you will love too.

1. Trnatva Herbal Facial Cleanser | Dry to Normal skin

This powder-based, soap free formulation is my new-found skincare buddy. Containing Haritaki, Bibitaki, Chamomile and Hibiscus, which are extremely soothing and gentle on the skin, I find that this adds an element of zen to my normal skincare regimen. I like to make a paste of 1/4th tsp of this cleanser with a bit of this rose water from Body Cafe, massage gently, and rinse off.

  • Beats tanning and dullness,
  • Gently deep cleanses your skin
  • Great for dry skin
  • No-foam cleanser-cum-exfoliator and face massager.

2. (BONUS!) Trnatva Herbal Facial Cleanser | Oily & Blemished Skin

A friend of mine picked this variant of Trnatva’s herbal cleanser for her oily skin. Within a couple of uses, she is already a fan! With the goodness of pure Orange Peel, Calendula, Amlaki & Neem, it pulls away excess sebum from the skin pores and also keeps it that way for a good long time. Readers with oily skin issues must definitely try it out and you can check it out at Earthy Selections.

3. Seer Secrets Honey & Geranium Pore- Refining Multi-Cleanser

This product combines honey and calming geranium to make a wonderful lightweight gel-based cleanser. In my experience, it really caresses dry sensitive skin. In winters, this is especially a great face wash to use. It’s a multitasking cleanser: use as a regular face wash or a makeup remover, giving you a great value for money. This is personally my favourite on the list.

4. Trnatva Coco Rosy Cleansing Balm

Coconut is such a nice ingredient to have in this gentle, soap-free oil-based face wash! It lifts off dirt and grime without rendering the skin too dry. And it smells heavenly! I usually massage my face with a small quantity of this cleansing balm especially in dry winters or when I need to wipe eye makeup. Pure Cold Pressed Coconut Oil, Indian Rose & Hibiscus extracts create a sensational after feel once you’re done with the routine. It’s 100% organic components make it safe to use around the eyes as well.

5. Mehr Clear – Oil Cleansing Lotion

A versatile make-up remover, deep cleanser, it’s a luxury product that helps reduce dark spots and pigmentation. I take a dab of the lotion on a damp cotton pad and use it to cleanse an entire day’s worth of dirt accumulation on my face and neck. It has pretty ingredients too, like grapeseed oil, Lavender, and Orange blossom. You may also follow up with a toner once you rinse it off.

6. Sage Apothecary – Activated Charcoal Face Wash

Oh, I absolutely adore the minimalist vibe this face wash has. It’s got activated vegan charcoal, sourced naturally. It is completely black but makes your skin glow. I used to think charcoal based cleansers were overrated, till I used this one. It’s really worth the buy. Take it from me: it’s deep-cleansing, detoxing, and helps your skin breathe. The refreshing coolness it leaves behind is unmistakable.

7. Forest Essentials Delicate Facial Cleanser Kashmiri Saffron & Neem

Once I felt like splurging on a nice luxury organic face wash, and bought this liquid gold. It’s a great alternative to harsh sulphate-infused cleansers. With the delicate fragrances of Kashmiri saffron and Kewda, it has the medicinal properties of neem that makes it especially strong to heal sensitive, acne prone & oily skin. One downside: It’s really expensive.

8. The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Foaming Cleanser

Rice water is a common ingredient in Korean skincare rituals, used as a toner & skin colour lightening agent. This face wash, infused with rice water and soapwort has a light, whipped cream texture, which I enjoyed using. It freshens up my face and mood instantly!

Bottom line:

In addition to a healthy diet and a good sleep, I have always put my trust in natural and organic face washes, because they’re eco-friendly, good to the skin without side effects, and come in really fresh and delectable fragrances & colours! And they’re really Instagram-worthy too. However, I recommend you conduct a patch test on your skin before application for 24 hours, observing any signs of a reaction.
