If you’ve never been to the West Coast of America you should consider adding it to your bucket list because you won’t regret it. Whether you’re looking for beautiful beaches, iconic cities, or stunning national parks, the West Coast has it all. For all your foodie needs, you won’t be disappointed with the options available up and down the coast so if you’re looking for a place to sit in, drive-thru, or Dock and Dine you will be sure to find it all here. There’s a reason why people say ‘West Coast is the best coast’ and in this post, we’re going to discuss three places you should explore in this beautiful part of the USA.
Los Angeles, California
Los Angeles is one of those places you just have to visit, even if you’re not stopping by for long. It’s the capital of the entertainment world and where all the Hollywood celebrities flock to but it’s not all about the glitz and glam and trying to spot the stars. Head to Griffith Park for stunning views of the Hollywood Hills or discover the wonders at Griffith Observatory which was featured in La La Land. You have to find LA’s most iconic landmark, the Hollywood sign which you can get great views from most parts of the city but especially Beachwood Canyon. Another must-see on your trip is Hollywood Boulevard, which is home to the Walk of Fame where you can spot the names of all your favorite celebs!
San Francisco, California
San Francisco is famous for its popular spots such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf, Haight Street, and Lombard Street but there is much more to this progressive city than that. San Francisco has seen many of America’s cultural turning points, from the 60s hippie revolution to one of the country’s first gay neighborhoods in the Castro district. You’ll fall in love with the gorgeous, hilly landscape plus there are so many free things to do here. You can walk or cycle over the Golden Gate Bridge, spend time soaking up the sun at Ocean Beach, take a guided tour of the city, and explore City Hall.
Seattle, Washington
A city surrounded by mountains, water, and beautiful evergreen forests, Seattle is full of charm and character. It’s famous for its coffee (Seattle is home to Starbucks), Space Needle, hipster scene, and Pike Place Market. The market opened in 1907 and is one of the USA’s longest-running farmer markets. Indulge in some beautiful nature at the Washington Park Arboretum where there are roughly 5,500 different plants from around the world. Plus, those who enjoy cannabis products will find that they are well catered for here since you can buy cannabis concentrates in Seattle, as well as a whole host of other products. For remarkable views of the city, head to Gas Works Park where you can spot Seattle’s famous skyline. No trip to Seattle is complete without heading up the UFO-shaped-like landmark, the Space Needle. Standing at 605ft you will get spectacular views of the whole city.
These are just three cities you should explore on the West Coast but there are so many more places you should consider.
