Pretty much everyone knows that summer weddings are considered to be the in thing. But maybe all those people are missing a trick. Winter weddings can be even more magical, mystical, and romantic. You can use those clear, dark nights to your advantage. It can increase that romantic atmosphere and make things even merrier. Winter weddings aren’t the same as Christmas weddings, they are their very own entity, and there are so many themes to choose from. However, winter weddings are not without their issues. But like everything, with the right planning, they can be resolved before they even rear their ugly heads. So, let’s take a look at some ways you can plan for the perfect winter wedding.
The Right Venue
There are ideal summer places, and there are perfect Winter places, and you need to know the difference. Do some investigation and decide what theme you are going for, then choose somewhere which really enunciates your theme. For example, a rustic barn may be able to create that ski chalet atmosphere you are after. A romantic theme may lend itself to a more gothic space with lots of room for candlelight. If Narina is more your thing, then somewhere that would be beautiful covered in white with twigs, leaves, and that winter forest feels. Once you have your theme sorted, you can go from there. It is generally a good rule of thumb to see as many venues as possible. Start by looking in the magazines and finding places that seem to exude the atmosphere you are going to, then visit the venues. Some places may seem perfect but be completely impractical upon further inspection. So, be prepared to see a lot of places.
Winter Accessories
Because it is going to be cold, you need to get the right accessories. Consider things like a faux fur wrap, a chic cardigan, or what about a cape for the more dramatic among you? Or you could even go for a long-sleeved wedding dress. Consider the right jewelry too. Snowdrop earrings and pearl pendants would fit, especially if you are going for a winter wonderland wedding.
Something for the Guys
There are some fabulous options for the men out there. A grey wedding suit would be perfect for the groom or the groomsmen. Grey looks great against a snowy backdrop. Also, consider things such as velvet blazers too.
The Beauty Prep
Remember that in the winter, you are far more likely to have chapped lips and skin complaints. So, you need to start looking after yourself. Ensure you drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and invest in the right moisturizer. If you pick a moisturizer that does not work for your skin type, then you may actually make a skin problem worse. It is probably a great idea to have a make-up dress rehearsal. So go to your beautician and have a few run thoughts. While you are in full make-up, practice some photos. Work out your best angles. In fact, take a friend and go to the venue and practice.
