Many of these plantations also include exhibits and tours that discuss the lives of the many slaves who worked to keep these plantations running up until the 19th century. 

Congaree National Park

Just thirty minutes south of Columbia, this national park is a great option to those who like to spend time outdoors. This forest has an abundance of wildlife and is a splendor to see. It’s ideal if you’re traveling with dogs and want somewhere different to take a walk.
